Unveiling the Bass Awards 2017 Promotional Video

The inspiration behind this promotional video is the concept of art as work. The best work, according to Curi, is born out of a blend of love, passion, and an indefinable element that only reveals itself in the process of creation. This piece is a chaotic, passionate love letter to those who strive to inspire and go the extra mile in search of the perfect balance between design and animation.

The unique properties of this design lie in its depiction of an impending storm. A tropical storm filled with colors, wind, and emotions. Curi aimed to create a world teeming with diverse creatures of all shapes and sizes. The key to the characters is diversity. They sense something is coming, leading to gatherings and discussions that grow louder over time. The message is spreading, creating a sense of anticipation for an imminent explosion.

This project is a blend of traditional animation and motion graphics, all created digitally. The design tags associated with this project include cel animation, motion design, animation, and characters. The project was initiated in February 2017 and completed in March of the same year. While Curi was based in Los Angeles, the rest of the team worked from Buenos Aires.

The Bass Awards 2017 promotional video was created at Le Cube and directed by Sebastian Curi. The animation was led by Dante Zaballa, with additional animation by Katherine Pryor and Matheus Muniz. The clean-up assistants were Juliana Gorgati and Patricio Rey, and the project was produced by Antonela Castro. The music and sound design were provided by Antfood.

This design was awarded the Silver A' Movie, Video, and Animation Design Award in 2017.
